Karisma Oluchukwu Ekeh is a model, film/video artist and performer, born in Lagos, Nigeria. Karisma grew up in Cologne and now based in Düsseldorf, Germany.
☞ ABA N PREACH: I really enjoy these two comedians. They react and give humorous commentary on various topics – sometimes social, political or a random reality TV series... Of course, there are moments where I disagree with them or they disagree with themselves, but it’s fun to get my opinions challenged. I have a good time watching them react and joke about random bullshit. It’s is a treat!
☞ THE TAO OF POOH: I grew up watching Winnie the pooh. Looking back I really admired the way Winnie the Pooh was living Life. Everything just seemed so perfect, no matter how stressful a situation got he also stayed calm and cool and got along with everything and everyone. This ease has enabled him to live a life where he is able to trust in what he cannot control. Especially as an artist, working in the creative field or just following one's passion Life itself can get a bit all over the place learning how to let go of things that are out of control becomes a necessity. If you want to understand more about what it means to trust in what you cannot control, you should take a look at the philosophy of Taoism, the principles are quite similar to the way of life of in Winnie the Pooh.
Wait.. you mean to tell me you do not know Taoism?
Well, do not panic, all you need to do is to let Winnie the Pooh explain it to you.
☞ LUIS BUNUEL: Luis Bunuel was a Mexican filmmaker with Spanish roots who was the first to show me a new approach to film. I remember watching The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972) which completely confused, amazed and astonished me. The way he conveys his own view and opinion about society in a surrealistic manner creates an aftertaste that will make you more aware about the absurdity and banality of Life and the way we live.
☞ SEVEN MOUNTAINS IN BONN: The Seven mountains is a place to go if you are looking for calming adventures. Whenever you come to visit Germany and you happen to be near Bonn, come by and experience and explore it for yourself. I used to spend quite some time there to either have experiences with magic mushrooms, go for a walk or sit somewhere enjoying the great view together with friends. I hope that you will enjoy your time there as much as we did!
