Jonathan Sanchez-Obias is a vintage furniture dealer and owner of Primaried Studio in Miami.
☞ IKEA DIGITAL ARCHIVE: I’ve spent dozens of hours on Ikea’s digital archive. It has all of their catalogues dating back to the 40’s. It’s been a huge resource to me when I’ve had to identify certain pieces or just admire different arrangements and colour-ways. I recently ordered a ton of vintage Ikea catalogues to carry at my shop. ikeamuseum.com
☞ POP OF COLOUR: Adding colour in any design can be so impactful. The earth tone interior trend and Yeezy palette is no fun! I think everything can use a pop of colour. If I wear all black, my cap might be cobalt blue and if I have wooden furniture it’s definitely next to a vintage ABS plastic piece in bright yellow or red.
☞ 24 HOURS IN MIAMI:
Miami Day: Fairchild Tropical Garden. It’s massive and the best place to stroll when it’s not too hot out. One of the prettiest tropical landscape designs. There’s a butterfly garden where they release butterflies a few times a day! fairchildgarden.org
Miami Night: The Anderson. My favourite place to go dancing in Miami is at the room in the back at the Anderson. Everyone is cool there, there’s always fun disco music playing and the vibe is not pretentious at all. theandersonmiami.com
Cuban Food: Versailles is a classic and a tourist destination for Cuban food, but Enriquetas in Wynwood is the move. They close early around 3pm but they have awesome specials everyday and huge portions. tripadvisor.co.uk
Favourite Record Stores: Lucky Records in Wynwood and Sweat Records in Little Haiti
